Job Vacancy: Yard person/Centre rider

Are you passionate about rehabilitation and re-training?
Do you have experience working on a busy yard with challenging horses?

Then this could be the role for you!

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 part time members of staff, although we would consider 1 full time member of staff.

  • Flexible hours, including weekend work.

  • Competitive rates of pay.

We are seeking 2 experienced Yard workers/Work riders who take pride in their work, with a keen eye for attention to detail.

  • You will be working alongside a small team of staff, so the ideal candidate must be hard working and confident to use their own initiative when required.

  • There will be occasions when you will be required to take sole charge (following instructions left for you).

  • When assisting the farriers, vets, dentist, or chiropractor you must be able to competently report all information gleaned back to the yard manager.

  • Ideally you will have previous experience with young/challenging horses and some knowledge of breaking in.

  • Whilst not essential, it would be desirable if you have knowledge and experience working with Thoroughbreds.

  • You will be following all rehabilitation and re-schooling instructions given by the yard manager. The ideal candidate must be a confident and experienced rider in flat and jump work, capable of working with the other riders in preparing our ex-racehorses for their new lives.

This is not a live-in position; the applicant must have access to their own transport due to our rural location. Accommodation is not provided.
